In Karma, a work developed in Madrid between 2009 and 2013, Óscar Monzón presents the car as a means of locomotion that is not separated from the being that inhabits it, since it is itself a product of the endless wheel that turns within us.

Karma explores a series of unconscious human behaviours, imprinted in our memory and which, in the case of the relationship we establish with the car, materialise in a precise way: separation, competitiveness, aggressiveness.

Through a language that eliminates the illusion of depth and enhances abstraction, Karma brings us closer to the paradoxical intimacy of the car in public space, reflecting the attitudes of its occupants. The sequence of images combines the human skin with bodies of aggressive design, the headlights at night are reminiscent of wild animals, the flash at close range provokes confrontation with the people portrayed.

This work shows, in short, the social and aesthetic evolution motivated by man's eternal desire to reach the perfection of a machine.
