A journey through the universe of Chema Madoz. The first review of the work of one of the most recognized, personal and evocative photographers. From his first photographs to the most current ones, a deep and exhaustive analysis through more than 450 images of his work.

In his photographs, objects are altered, mixed without violence and seem to float or belong to places outside of time and reality. Photography becomes a way of creating language, poetry from fragile, familiar and surprising images. Evocative images that alter our perception and open up to the multiple meanings that the viewer finds.

In addition to reproducing more than 450 works with the highest quality, the book contains a complete illustrated chronology that will help us to approach the figure of this photographer. References to personal moments, tastes and influences, artistic career, commissions, exhibitions, and national and international recognition.

The book is completed with texts by the North American photographer Duane Michals, the critic Christian Caujolle, the art historian Estrella de Diego, the curator Oliva María Rubio and the director of La Fábrica Editorial, Alberto Anaut.

Chema Madoz (Madrid, 1958) Art Historian and photographer, National Photography Prize (2000) and PHotoEspaña Prize (2000), as well as the first living Spanish photographer to whom the Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofía dedicated a retrospective.
