In this photobook Rosalba Bustamante takes a journey through the life of a child and at the same time through that of her father, marking similarities between them, but focusing on a repressed childhood that could at a given moment be the cause of the author's decisions, such as having chosen such a cruel medical speciality as Traumatology, in which she was almost always in contact with blood and definitive procedures such as amputations. Rosalba narrates anecdotes, both from her childhood and from her practice as a medical specialist, accompanied by archive images; in addition, the photobook is completed with solarigraphs that are an important part of the author's personal work.

The story draws an analogy between the phantom limb syndrome in which a patient, after having been amputated, continues to feel the now non-existent limb with the lingering presence of the father long after he has died. Separation, mutilation, wounds, ruptures, amputations, words that are the common thread of the photobook, both in the story and in its physical structure, which has to be cut in order to be seen. The book was made as part of Hydra's 2019 Photobook Incubator programme. In 2022 it was completed in collaboration with designer Vera Yijun Zhou.
