A photographer who was ahead of his time by introducing color in the 1960s.

Chronicler of a time, era and soul that will be very familiar to you. Beautiful fragments of our history.

This anthological volume covers his entire career, from the initial black and white to the color that dominated his work, without forgetting the season, at the end of his life, when he returned to black and white. A corpus of works, some unpublished until now, that attest to the greatness of an author ahead of his time, but immersed in his time. A photographer full of strength and honesty, with a very personal look anchored at the same time in the current of the best documentary photography.

Gonzalo Juanes (Gijón, 1923-2014), a pioneer in the use of color at a time when serious photography was done in black and white. A contemporary and friend of photographers of the Afal collective such as Ramón Masats, Carlos Pérez Siquier or Xavier Cualladó -who considered him his teacher-, his career was overshadowed by the fact that he took up residence in Asturias, far from the centers of power, and by his decision, from the mid-sixties onwards, to use only color in his photographs.
