Andrew Dempsey spent a decade studying Juan Rulfo's photographic collection of some 6,000 images. Daniele De Luigi joined her work and both selected 100 of them. This book-catalogue is the first to be based on the knowledge of Juan Rulfo's entire archive and brings together the majority of the genres that he has cultivated, suitably balanced: the buildings of Mexico, the multiple landscapes of the country, the life of the small towns, the artists, writers, friends and relatives of Juan Rulfo.

Two texts by Juan Rulfo are included: one dedicated to Henri Cartier-Bresson during his two periods in Mexico and the other to the Mexican photographer Nacho López. Likewise, the authors of the selection write about Juan Rulfo's photography from a very informed perspective in their respective areas of expertise.
