Primavera en Georgia Magnum

Last items in stock

Ten Magnum photographers explore the Republic of Georgia in the spring of 2009, 20 years after the country gained independence from the Soviet Union. Located between the Middle East, Russia and Europe, and still recovering from two wars, Georgia has experienced its worst moment. From being the dream region of the Soviet Union, it became a failed state during the 1990s, when no one paid taxes and there was only electricity for two hours a day. Now, despite Russia's animosity, Georgia is emerging from its dark years in a fighting spirit.

The book is exquisitely designed as a travel journal. Each photographer's trip to Georgia focuses on a different aspect of the country, presented as a diary of photographs and words. Includes an archive section showing the best photographs of Magnum taken in Georgia since 1948.
