Produced in the space of his personal garden in Washington D.C., Terri Weifenbach's photographs reveal the secret world of a nature populated by birds that nest in urban gardens. Oscillating between fantasy and reality, his images seem to be taken in secret where birds spin at full speed, dance or sit, freeze and hold conciliabulas. The seasons follow one another, the colours of the garden vary. Light and saturated colors, play between blur and ultra sharp detail, still images draw a "super reality". Terri Weifenbach immerses us in the infinitely small and reveals to us the wonder of their world.

This book is part of the Des oiseaux collection, which celebrates, through the eyes of various artists, their immense presence in a world where they are now vulnerable. Ornithologist Guilhem Lesaffre proposes an unpublished essay to accompany each set of photographs. For those of Terri Weifenbach, he highlights the adaptation of birds in urban environments. Previous titles in the collection include: Pentti Sammallahti, Bernard Plossu and Yoshinori Mizutani.
