What is the work behind a photographic project, what is the process of researching a series of photographs, and how does it materialise? Any work hides behind it a complex combination of influences, personal interests, acquired technique, training, study of documentation, readings and, in short, an important work of preliminary reflection that contributes to shaping the final result. This book presents the keys to preparing a photographic project and effectively exploiting the mix of information and documentation that contributes to achieving meaningful and purposeful photographs.

With an important professional career behind them, the renowned photographers Anna Fox and Natasha Caruana expose in a clear and didactic way the keys to develop photographic projects from three aspects: the compilation of information -archives, internet, books, training... -, the photographic practice itself and, finally, the treatment and analysis of the material obtained in the field work. The text is accompanied by numerous examples and practical cases of artistic and documentary photography projects that help the reader to get a real idea of how to materialise research, reflection and creativity in specific photographic series.
